Although much of the summer turned out to be not so much fun for us, Mrs. DS got me an awesome Father’s Day gift I’ve been meaning to write about. Truth be told, I’ve been waiting for a Traeger pellet grill for awhile but I wanted to catch it on a sale somewhere I could use gift cards. The smokers aren’t cheap, but when you grill 3-4 times a week, the cost is somewhat justified. The stars finally aligned on Father’s Day weekend. Montana Vacation 2018
Well another fun filled family vacation is in the books! We had so much fun during last year’s Montana vacation, we decided to go back this year.
We are fortunate to have great friends that we can stay with who live in such a fun area. Check out the recap from Mrs. DS on them.
Of course we buy supplies for the week and leave them a little thank you gift for their hospitality upon departure. After all, we’d like to be invited back!
Vacationing is always less painful when you only have to pay for two nights in a hotel. The first one we saved $20 on a quick Expedia sale. No such luck on the second hotel. Small town, lack of options.
Let’s get to the fun stuff! [Read more…] about Montana Vacation 2018 Recap

Oh For The Love Of Cleaning, Get A Room!
I love cleaning. This love for cleaning started at an early age. One of the best gifts I give to friends who are expecting, is deep cleaning their home a few weeks before their due date.
We moved a few times in our lifetime out of rentals and each time the landlord asked if I wanted to professionally clean their units as a side hustle. I’m flattered! But, I think if cleaning was a job I would get paid for, I wouldn’t find it as enjoyable. Cleaning is therapeutic!
Since I’ve been cleaning for almost 30 years (yup, and I’m still a millennial), I know a lot of tips and tricks! I am going to share with you my favorite cleaning hacks and how I safely store my cleaning products to keep them away from pets and kiddos! Do you feel that? Spring is in the air! I for one am pumped for it!
It can be quite depressing living in a cold area that receives a lot of snow in the winter. We welcome the spring with open arms! The grass miraculously come back to life, leaves start to sprout on trees, other plants begin to bloom, and geese and other wildlife start making their way up North!
If you’ve barricaded yourself inside all winter long, you are overdue for some much needed earthing activities. What the heck is earthing you may ask? I’m not a professional – but earthing is basically connecting yourself back to the earth to obtain its natural energies. Instead of Vitamin D – it’s Vitamin G for ground, maybe? But, this is often done barefoot!
If you aren’t a fan of running around barefoot, I’m pro just checking back in with what Mother Nature gave us. Here’s my list if you want a quick way to recharge your batteries, fight your way out of a funk, get outside and start earthing! One of the best activities I can remember growing up was looking for Easter baskets. My parents didn’t give my sister and I them, as 1). They didn’t really have the money and 2). They figured grandparents would spoil us enough.
So, for me the hunt for Easter baskets would take place at my grandparent’s house with all my other cousins that would travel far distances to also be there Easter weekend. This took place in a good, small town, farming community (yes, like Mayberry). The town was spread out, and my grandparents lived in an awkward looking old house they kept building onto each time they cranked out a kid (6). This house was located on a really large lot with many trees, gardens and bushes one could hide Easter baskets in!
Oddly enough, I would always see one of my cousin’s grab my basket before me and say, “whoops” and hand mine to me. I would then cry and make my grandparents re-hide it somewhere (give me a break, this is devastating when you are 5 years old!). Don’t worry, I got revenge. I eventually got older (and faster) and was soon finding their baskets before them!
The Easter baskets did not include much, if any, candy. My grandparents filled it with so much more. Memories and activities that are lasting me my lifetime. Today I’ll share mine with you and maybe you will want to pick up some of these traditions too! [Read more…] about Fill Easter Baskets With Healthier Options: Activities & Memories!
It doesn’t matter if you are an introvert or an extrovert, you are eventually going to need people skills. Unless you went all Into the Wild, burned your IDs, gave away your money and are living a self-sustaining life on a mountain. Then sure, maybe you don’t need people skills. I agree with Eddie Vedder society is a crazy breed, but you don’t need to run away from it.
You just need the right tools and resources to adapt and get you through the day. What would you say if I told you I know the cheapest way to further your education? You likely may spend more dining out in ONE week versus the cost of this. And it can catapult you into leadership roles (if you desire this path). As well as teach you how to write compelling blog posts that will inspire your audience to take action?
